Hey everyone! I'm glad to say that this blog entry will be much more upbeat and happier than the last one! I had a great week. This week was one of 3 weeks where I am required to attend class on Friday. It's amazing how having to go to school for 5 days now makes all of us super exhausted...we are in for a rude awakening when we return to the states! I did manage to have a little fun this week despite class! Monday night I met with my friends Claire and Alison to work on a project for one of our classes. The project requires us to try 3 new tapas bars and make a powerpoint presentation about them...tough work, I know! We found some great places and had fun chatting throughout the night. Wednesday evening I went to a flamenco show with API. Flamenco is SO COOL. It was amazing to watch, especially since we sat very close to the dancers. The show took place basically in a cave in the Albacin. I seriously can't describe it in words, but I will say that I wish my feet could move like that!! Here are some pictures:

After the flamenco show, I headed our for dinner/tapas with some of my girlfriends. We grabbed a shawarma first and then ate a few tapas afterwards. Here are some pictures of that...

So, that was Wednesday night. Nothing much of real excitement happened until Saturday morning, when we all got up super early to catch a bus to Nerja, which is a town on the coast of the Mediterranean about 2 hours away from Granada. Our bus left at 9, and instead of taking a taxi to the bus station we decided to be smart and economical and take the bus to the bus station. This ended up being a pretty hilarious adventure. Buses run less frequently on the weekends, but we still thought we had plenty of time. We waited at the bus stop for quite some time, and then we all started getting nervous that we would not get to the bus station in time. We met some other Americans at the bus stop, and they were getting equally nervous. We all finally made the executive decision to find a taxi so we wouldn't miss our bus. We are walking down the street away from the bus stop, when we turn around and see it coming toward us! We ran to the next bus stop, where we successfully boarded the bus. I was dying laughing the whole time, and I know we looked so silly! Anyways, we got on our bus and arrived at the beach 2 hours later. We went straight to the beach, laid out our towels, lathered up with sunscreen, and started relaxing. It was an absolutely beautiful day. The water of the Mediterranean is pretty cold, but it is completely clear. Also, there's not a whole lot of sand on the beach, but instead it is mostly stone/rock. A little more painful than sand, but I'm not really complaining at all. We literally spent the entire day laying on the beach, soaking up the sun. It was perfect. We all know how much I love the beach, and I'm used to going quite often in Charleston. I had such an amazing day, and it really lifted my spirits! I've got quite a lot going on this week, but it will all be worth it because I leave for Ireland and Scotland on Friday!! Can't believe Spring Break is already here...time is flying!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm adding some beach pictures below. Love and miss you all so much!!
